What is Permanent Makeup?
Permanent makeup is a type of cosmetic tattoo. The most common permanent makeup procedures today are eyebrows, eyeliner and lips and there are quite a few techniques that can be done for each procedure. Cosmetic tattoos are essentially a wide range of esthetic modifications done with certain tattooing techniques. This wide range includes but is not limited to: microblading, eyebrow shading, eyeliner, lip blush, areola tattoos, scalp re-pigmentation and scar camouflage. These tattoos last anywhere from 6 months – 5+ years. The cost generally ranges anywhere from $300 to $1500 depending on the procedure and artist’s experience. Similar to regular tattoos, every artist has their own style and can use a variety of techniques, so it’s important to do your research and not just focus on price but also examine an artist’s experience by looking at photos and the consistency of someone’s work to decide whose work you fits your style best and is in your price range.
