AFTERCARE

AFTERCARE IS VERY IMPORTANT; READ CAREFULLY

EYEBROW TATTOO AFTERCARE

The day of your procedure your eyebrows may be swollen and red for the first 24 hours. The tattoo will look dark and sharp for the first week until the scab peels off, and at that time it will lighten and shrink slightly.

On the day following your procedure the color with saturate at the surface and appear much more intense. When the scabbing process starts, your brows may look uneven or slightly distorted, please wait until they are fully peeled to judge the exact shape. Once the area has peeled (around day 5-8) the colour may appear distorted/faded or even appear to be “gone” don’t stress, the true colour will come back.  Although the area will appear healed after 10 days, it will not be fully healed for 3-4 weeks at which point the actual color will reveal itself. This is based on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates and regenerates.

One procedure cannot usually guarantee the desired outcome. Therefore, I offer one free touch-up visit within 3 months of the first procedure.  In very complicated cases (involving removal/color correction/camouflages/scar tissue/iron disorder) an extra charge will apply on extra touch-ups.

For Procedures: Microblading / Powder Brows/ Nano Brows/ Combo Brows

  • A few hours after your procedure, wash your hands thoroughly and very gently wipe off the soothing balm (applied at the end of your procedure) with a tissue.

  • With a CLEAN finger apply a very small amount of bacitracin.

  • Moisturize the area once or twice per day (morning and night).  Use Bacitracin as an after care anti-oxidant. Gently apply a very SMALL about once a day in the morning or when the area feels itchy or dry for 5-10 days. This provides pain relief, moisturizes and promotes healing to help retain color.

  • DO NOT wash the area AT ALL until it has finished peeling (5-10 days) this will prematurely loosen scabs and can result in loss of colour in that area.

  • Avoid soaps/facial cleansers on pigmented areas (wash around them) pat dry with a clean towel.

  • Before showering, apply Vaseline on pigmented area to act as a barrier (you can glob it on).  Do not directly shower the treated area. When you are out of the shower, gently wipe off Vaseline with a tissue and reapply Bacitracin for the day.

  • DO NOT rub, scratch or pick any crust along the tattooed area.  Early removal of pigment crusts may result in lost color.

  • DO NOT apply makeup on the pigmented area during the healing process (2-3 weeks).

  • Avoid swimming, soaking, steam bath, facials and excess sweating for the 1st week.

  • Avoid applying exfoliants on the tattooed area for at least 2 weeks.

  • The use of AHA’s/ glycolic acids/ retinoids directly on the tattooed area will increase the fading process drastically.

  • Avoid sun exposure (including tanning beds) during healing process for about 3-4 weeks.

  • After the area has peeled, it will appear healed but won’t be for about 3-4 weeks. In that time, it is important to also keep the area moisturized as it will be very dry and itchy. Use the Hustle butter provided or a moisturizer with NO SPF or perfumes in it. The hustle butter has special healing agents in it that promote the retention and brightness of the pigment.

  • This process will be repeated following a touch-up.

Long Term Care

  • Use at least an SPF 30 sunscreen on tattooed area(s) when in the sun, otherwise the color will fade faster.

  • Some of the pigments are iron-oxide based which your body slowly absorbs.  The color will fade over time.  You may desire touch-up every 6 months-3 years.

  • If you are planning a chemical peel, MRI or other medical procedure, please tell the technician that you have an iron-oxide based cosmetic tattoo.

  • If you are planning to have laser treatment, tell your laser specialist to avoid the pigmented area.  Laser may cause pigment to darken or distort.

Please note: If you experience extreme redness, swelling, pain or puss to contact a doctor or healthcare professional.

LIP BLUSH AFTERCARE

The first day of your lip procedure your lips will be tender and swollen for the first few hours and the colour will be pretty bright and saturated.

Day 2 the colour of your lips will be even BRIGHTER and MORE SATURATED as they form “scabs” and they may even start to peel.

Day 3-4 your lips will peel, look brighter and very outlined.

Day 5-8 the colour will start to tone down and maybe even appear to be fading out completely, don’t stress, the colour will come back.

Day 9- 30 the colour will slowly start to come back and mature or “bloom” revealing a darker, yet more subtle, natural shade.

Lip Tattoos take the longest to fully heal which is about 4-8 weeks.

  • Use a straw to drink for the first couple days.  Avoid eating spicy and salty food that touch your lips for 3-6 days.

  • After your procedure, whenever the healing balm starts to wear off or your lips start to feel dry, with a CLEAN finger apply some bacitracin.

  • For the first 3 days (until your lips have peeled) it is important to keep them moisturized CONSTANTLY.

  • Use the Bacitracin provided, hustle butter provided or Vaseline.

  • DO NOT wash the area AT ALL until it has finished peeling (5-10 days) this will prematurely loosen scabs and can result in loss of colour in that area.

  • Avoid soaps/facial cleansers on pigmented areas (wash around them).

  • This process will be repeated following a touch-up.

More for Lips

If you EVER had cold sores/fever blisters/herpes you MUST obtain prescription ZOVIROX/VALTREX from your doctor.  Start prescription 3 days prior and continue 4 days post procedure.  Failure to pre-medicate may results in an outbreak which will compromise your results.

Long Term Care – for all Procedures

  • Use at least an SPF 30 sunscreen on tattooed area(s) when in the sun, otherwise the color will fade faster.

  • Some of the pigments are iron-oxide based which your body slowly absorbs.  The color will fade over time.  You may desire touch-up every 1-3 years.

LASH EXTENSIONS AFTERCARE

  • Do not get the lashes wet for 24 hours (this includes sweating, crying, steam and water).

  • It is very IMPORTANT however to make sure you DO WASH your eyes daily after the 24 hour period, take a small pile of lash wash foam (about 3-4 pumps) and put it on the lashes then gently rub at the base of the lashes (avoid rubbing the lashes) and then rinse.

  • When you are in the shower try not to let the water pressure run directly on the lashes (with your face facing the shower head up close).

  • Do not rub your eyes.

  • Do not pick or pull at the lashes at any time.

  • Try not to sleep on your face.  If you do make sure you brush them out in the morning (you can also brush them when you get out of the shower).

  • Do not wear strip lashes with or on top of the lash extensions (this can rip your lashes out and also can get gummed up glue in your nice pretty lash extensions).

  • Do not wear mascara with your lash extensions unless you absolutely must in between fills.  (MAKE SURE it is NOT a WATERPROOF mascara.  Waterproof mascara can only be fully and properly cleaned off your lashes with an oil based substance and oil is what breaks down the glue and causes the lash extensions fall off.  Also, when there is mascara residue left on your lashes the glue can’t bond new lash extensions properly).

  • Refrain from using anything oily directly on your eyelids (this includes oil based eye creams, foundations, etc.)

  • When using eyeliner try to use a liquid or gel eyeliner, or black eye shadow (pencil liners are waxy and tend to melt off into the lash line).

  • If you are going to be swimming wear goggles (only if you are going to be submerged in water for long periods of time).  If you are just splashing around in the water you don’t need to wear goggles.

  • Stay away from direct heat such as a barbeque or opening an oven because the heat can relax the permanent curl of the false lashes or possibly singe or straighten them.

  • The LESS you touch your lash extensions the LONGER they will last.

  • In the unlikely chance that you happen to have an allergic reaction, it will generally happen within the first 24-48 hours (eyelids will be swollen and/or red and sore, or very itchy, also accompanied with redness).  Please contact me immediately so an emergency removable can be performed.

  • Lastly, look in the mirror and marvel at your beauty at least once a day.
