The Cost of Esthetics
As women (and men), we pay tons of money to make ourselves feel good through the way we look. I don’t necessarily think that being your best self, inside and out is vanity but rather an expression of personality through the appeal of esthetics. Whether it be: nails, hair, permanent makeup, eyebrows, lips, eyelashes, injections, facials, lasering or even surgical procedures, everybody has a certain thing that makes them feel better about themselves that they can’t live without.
There was a point in my life when I found out the cost of some of these services and scoffed at the price like it was something I would never even consider because it seemed too expensive. But since I’ve been working in the industry I understand why things cost what they do and how worth it that can be to so many people to have that one thing that makes them insecure taken care of. These services should be done by professionals who have been extensively trained and have lots of experience in their field because with most of these esthetic procedures there are risks. Esthetic procedures are not cheap and here’s why: professionals in this specific service industry undergo lots of training, there is the cost of materials and overhead costs, experience, practice and passion for their art but most importantly (and I think most people forget this one) esthetics are a luxury service. They are not a necessity of life, although most of us feel like they are. Don’t be looking around for super cheap services or extreme discounts if you want to have beautiful, professional results. Services like these are a little treat to ourselves, some people can’t afford them, some people save up for them, some people don’t care for them and some people are addicted to them. Whatever your opinion on them is, just remember they can be costly and it’s for a reason.
