FAQ Lash Extensions
-
Most eyelash extension adhesives have a bond time of anywhere from 3-4 weeks. When you get a full set, you will lose about half of the false lashes in 2-3 weeks which is when you would come in for a fill.
Eyelashes grow in stages. It is normal to lose 1-4 natural lashes per day which is why a fill is recommended every 2-3 weeks. To read more on how long eyelash extensions last check out our blog.

Applying a Full Set of Eyelash Extensions takes from 1.5-2.5 hours (depending on the type of lashes being applied). During your lash appointment, you will fill out a first-time client form, discuss curls, styles, and lengths of lashes, and take a before photo prior to the start of the lash application. At the completion of your appointment, we will take an after photo.

It is highly recommended that you arrive to your lash appointment without any eye makeup such as: mascara, liquid liner, eyeshadow or foundation around your eyes.

When applied correctly, eyelash extensions do not damage your natural lash. Certified lash technicians apply lashes to only one natural lash at a time and will apply an extension that is the appropriate weight and length to ensure the integrity of your natural lash. Eyelash extensions can be damaging if your lash technician is not using proper techniques or products. Your lash technician will offer a consultation with respect to which extensions are most appropriate for your natural lashes. This will aid in maintaining healthy natural lashes and enjoying the benefits of extensions.

Eyelash extensions do not hurt when applied correctly. They are applied with professional tools by isolating lashes to ensure they are not stuck together. An under eye gel pad is put on to isolate your top lashes from the bottom ones. If you are experiencing any discomfort during the process, always let your technician know. Sometimes as gel pads heat up from your face, the gel can seep into the eye, not causing harm but it can be irritating. Sometimes glue fumes can seep into the eye during application and causing stinging, if this happens at all let your technician know.

Eyelash extensions can be applied to look anyway that you desire. Most reputable lash technicians will be able to give you your desired look or very similar. You can choose to have shorter natural lashes, large dramatic lashes, etc. Typically speaking, eyelash extensions don’t look fake unless that is the look that you are going for.

In short, no. Mascara is sticky, messy stuff and can actually cause damage by sticking the extensions to themselves and pulling at your natural lashes. It’s extremely hard to get off with any oil-free products (which is what you should be using with extensions) and mascara actually has oil in it itself which will only make your extensions come off prematurely.
-
You most definitely can wear make-up with your eyelash extensions (except mascara). When selecting makeup, it is beneficial to go with extension safe make-up. Using any makeup that is oil-free will ensure the longevity of your extensions. When removing eye makeup, using only a lash wash or oil free makeup remover is recommended.

Yes. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise. However, we recommend that you DO NOT WASH your eye area for at least 24 hours after the initial eyelash extension application. Even though we use a nano-mister to cure the glue instantly this allows the bonding agent to fully dry and prolong the life of your extensions. In addition, it is not recommended that you use excessively warm water on your lashes. Heat will reduce the life of the adhesive used in application.
