The Healing Calendar: Your Last Safe Booking Date Before the Holidays

Holiday parties. Family photos. The one night a year your whole extended family is in the same room. If you're picturing healed, settled, camera ready brows or lips for that day, the time to book is earlier than most people think.

Permanent makeup doesn't look finished the moment you leave the studio. It goes through a real healing process, and rushing that process before a big event is the fastest way to end up disappointed in your photos. Here's what actually happens, and when you need to book to have it done right by December 20th. If your big day is a different date, just count backward from there instead.

Brows: Microblading, Nano Brows, and 3D Brows

The first 10 days are the rough part. Expect some redness and swelling on day one, then a scabbing phase around days 5 through 10 where your brows can look patchy or uneven. Totally normal, just not what you want two weeks before a party.

Your brows will look healed after about 10-14 days. But the true color, the one you'll actually be living with, doesn't settle in until 3 to 4 weeks out.

Book by November 22nd and you'll be fully healed and settled for December 20th, no question.

Book by November 29th and you're right at the 3 week mark, healed but still finishing its final settle.

December 10th is the absolute last call. You'll be past the scabbing phase and looking presentable, though your color will technically still be finding its final shade.

Lip Blush

Lips initially peel faster than brows do but take longer for the true color to settle in. Bright and swollen on day one, even more saturated through the scab days 2 through 4, then they peel and it tones down and can look like it's fading or patchy around days 5 through 8 before the true color gradually builds back in over the following weeks.

Book by October 25th and you're covered even if your healing lands on the slower end of that range.

November 22nd is the 4 week minimum. It can work, but lips are the one service where we'd rather you have the extra runway than cut it close.

What About a Touch-Up?

Every one of our permanent makeup services include one complimentary touch-up within 3 months. If you want that touch-up done and healed before December 20th too, work backward from your first session date and build in a few extra weeks. For most people, the initial session alone is enough to look incredible through the holidays. The touch-up is there to perfect what's already good, not to fix what isn't.

Already Past the Cutoff?

If you're reading this in December, lash extensions are your move. There's no healing time involved. You come in, we place them, you leave looking finished. A Classic, Hybrid, Luxe Classic, or 3D Volume set is done in one session with zero downtime, so if the brow or lip window has closed, this one hasn't.

The Bottom Line

Book brows by mid October to have your initial session and touch up all healed up before December holidays.  Book lips by the end of September. Both dates work backward from an evening that actually matters, so you're not guessing, you're just bookin
